The AR-15 and the M-16 rifle have the same caliber and everything else is the same except for the receiver and the internal parts of the receiver; connector, disconnector, bolt, etc. The AR-15 is the civilian version and the M-16 is the military version. - It is a relatively small bullet and does not have the stopping power that some larger rifles have.
